Register now: Zines for Sexual Wellness

Writer's picture: Planned ParenthoodPlanned Parenthood

Monday evenings in January and February, join Planned Parenthood Regina educators and local artists to learn and create together. Our 'Zines for Sexual Wellness' program is a 6-week program where we gather weekly to learn, share, discuss, and create zines around the topic(s) of reproductive justice. The goal is to create a community zine that reflects the knowledge and experience of all it's contributors. Register Here to take part!

The theme for this round of the project is 'abortion access and reproductive justice'. We'll be joined by guest artists: Kris Alverez, Monique Rose, Megan Johnson, and Sadi Rose.

Sessions will be held at the PPR clinic on:

January 13th, 7-9pm

January 20th, 7-9pm

January 27, 7-9pm

February 3, 7-9pm

February 10, 7-9pm

February 17, 7-9pm

What is a zine? Zines (pronounced zeens) are small self-published booklets that can contain anything you want to express. Zines have a powerful history in queer communities and feminist movements to collect and share knowledge that traditional publishing tends to neglect. In particular, this medium has been used to share information about our health and to communicate the care we provide to ourselves and our communities. From the first mail-outs about birth control to local guides to gender affirming care, we hope to continue this legacy by holding space for lived experiences about reproductive justice and self-publishing our stories. Each participant will receive their own zine toolkit with all of the material you need to produce your own zines now and into the future.
